We are a small group of people helping non profit organization Dara, Sofia. Darais trying to help dogs since very long time in every possible way - filling signals in the court, complains against inhuman attitude from people against animals, helping sick and hurt dogs leave Seslavtzi, medical treatment in private vet clinics, all of the bills are covered by donations, looking for adopters.
We started to work with them, to be useful for the cause and give a voice and popularity for the truth for Seslavtzi. The conditions there are not colerful - you can see this yourself, looking at the pictures we make there on every visitation. At first you probably wouldn't notice or wouldn't pay big attention to the wet floors in the boxes, the poo all over the floor, the dirt and not working sewage, to the outlook of one or more dogs looking very skinny or stressed, dogs who has injuries. But if you look more carefully every single album with pics in our page you will see that the pics are all the same, just the dogs are different, this is the daily life in Seslavtzi. There are no sick and healthy dogs in the public shelter. If your pet is receiving diarrhea every single day, it's a clear signal that something is wrong with it, isn't it? Well in the shelter it doesn't matter. There is a large percentage of sick dogs, but even if the shelter has an employy who is vet doctor, most of the times he just doesn't help the dogs with medical care.
The acts of the volunteers in the shelter are always in conflict with the thinking of the employys in the shelter. They always say that when we go there, we are causing big chaos, therefore the most seen view is how volunteers unclog the sewage, clean the grass in front of the offices of people who are in charge in the shelter. Because of their insane orders our time for walks and feeding the dogs is lower. Unfortunately we don't have choice, because the people in charge always intimidate us that they will complain to doctor Neikov, who is their leader and he will ban our access to the shelter.
Our efforts lead to closed street. One of the last cases we are working on is Nelly - the dog with the bitten stomach area. Yesterday (13.09.2012) when we visited the Seslavtzi, they asked us why we made her story so popular, what is the big deal?
This is the face of Seslavtzi. Please, see our albums with pictures, it's all about the dogs who are in Seslavtzi or the dogs we take responsibility to care for after they left the shelter with our help. We hope they will find loving homes very soon and responsible owners.
